Concert Review: Inhaler, Everyone Loves an Irish Band In Atlanta

Review by Lindsey V. Britt

Ahead of announcing their third studio album, Open Wide, Inhaler embarked on their 2024 North American tour, performing songs from their first two albums It Won’t Always Be Like This and Cuts & Bruises, along with a new surprise song from the upcoming album.

Fans started lining up as early as 9:00 AM for the concert in anticipation of the chance of getting barricade to see their favorite band, Inhaler. The venue was The Tabernacle in Downtown Atlanta, located on Luckie Street. Fun fact: The Tabernacle is an old church from 1911 that was converted into a concert hall in 1996. It has held many shows by legendary artists and performers, from Oasis to Eminem to Bob Saget.

The show started with SoCal’s indie garage rock band Benches, opening up with their latest song, “Naive,” getting the audience hyped. Their set was astounding. As someone who hadn’t listened to them before, they were definitely added to my Spotify by the night's end. With a strong performance, they reminded me of The 1975’s early days.

Inhaler came on the stage and the fans went wild - Starting off with “These Are The Days,” followed by my favorite song of theirs, “Love Will Get You There.” Watching their performance was like watching four friends having a grand time, doing what they love. The band had been playing songs from the upcoming album in different cities throughout the tour, the new song at my show was the title track for the new album “Open Wide” which is out now, along with playing their new song “Your House.”

As the show ended, the band did an encore with “If You’re Gonna Break My Heart” and “My Honest Face.” Overall, the camaraderie of the crowd was amazing, the concert was one of my personal favorites, I can honestly say this crowd loves an Irish band! Inhaler will return to The States in March as part of their upcoming Open Wide World Tour, starting in Leeds, UK on February 7th, which is the same day Open Wide is released.
