LA-based trio senses are back with an addictive pop-rock cut "gonna make sure," out everywhere today. Bursting with resilient exuberance, infectious melodies, honest lyrics and punchy instrumentation, the song encapsulates everything a great pop-rock breakup song should. “It’s a relationship song where the other person wanted you first, yet they treat you really bad time and time again, then end up being the one to break things off," the band states about the meaning of the song. "It’s a very 'be the bigger person' moment, but also don’t be.”

What was your creative process like writing and producing "gonna make sure?

When we first started working with our producer (Keith Varon), he had shown us kind of off hand this rough track idea he had made.  We were at his studio and when he went inside to eat dinner, we just started messing around with it and writing to it with the other co-writer Jackie Hynes.  An hour later he came back out, we showed him what we did, and he got so excited we just hammered it out until it was done.  We went through a couple different melody and lyric styles, and when we landed on what it is now we all were so pumped.  Then from there we had Nick throw down some live drums at a studio in LA called The Noise Nest, and then added some more top line guitar parts.  The song actually lived for a while without any kind of bridge, but we decided it really needed something to solidify the message and give it a little switch up.  We went back in and added what is the bridge now and that was the last thing that went into it!

What's your favorite part about songwriting?

We really love the collaboration.  Working with each other, Keith and Jackie all throwing our different ideas and spitballing together was really fun.  It’s so exciting when you have a specific idea in mind or something you want to say, but then when you explain that to other people they can have their own twist on that and add so much to the message that maybe you didn’t even think of.  Bouncing ideas off of the people in the room until it just works is really fun and exciting.

"gonna make sure" comes after the band's 2022 single "sleepwalking" and support track "novocain." The contagious single "sleepwalking," supported by MTV, Wonderland Magazine, Rolling Stone IN, AXS TV and more, landed the band's first radio support with adds on KROQ, idobi Radio, DC 101 and more. The track also received support on several editorial playlists, including Spotify's The Scene, All New Punk and The Locker. In the fall of 2022, they were also selected to support Carlie Hanson on her US tour, sponsored by Alt Press.

Self-dubbed "a punk-curious pop rock band," LA rock trio senses cultivate a unique pop-rock edge by utilizing dark synths, driving guitars, pounding drums and unique storytelling. The band - which originated when singer Madison Taylor met guitarist Josh Bissell and drummer Nick Sampson on Craigslist, encompasses the true meaning of “belt it out in your car,” priding themselves on their anthemic, relatable songwriting. They have a handful of tracks under their belt already, produced by acclaimed engineer Blake Harnage (Tate McRae, PVRIS), which have garnered over 600,000 streams. With a promising future ahead, the trio is back in the studio working on their debut EP with producer Keith Varon (The Aces, Nightly, jxdn, Travis Barker, Machine Gun Kelly), expected to release in the fall of 2023.
