Concert Review: Kassi Ashton - A Night to Remember

Article by Keyla Torres

Kassi Ashton's first headlining tour has been a resounding success, captivating audiences across the country. Her tour, which started on March 22nd, 2024, has featured a range of dates and venues, including performances at the Palace Theatre in Stamford, CT, and the Blue Note in Columbia, MO. For some dates, her friend Alex Hall opened the show, adding an extra layer of excitement to the performances.

On March 29th, 2024, I attended Kassi's concert at the Off the Rails venue and restaurant in Worcester, Massachusetts, with my mom and sister. It was a special night for us, as my sister and mom started listening to Kassi Ashton after we bought the tickets and quickly became big fans. My sister, a music enthusiast, was particularly thrilled by the experience, and it was heartwarming to see her so happy and in her element. I can easily imagine her being in a band, playing for an artist like Kassi one day.

Meet and Greet Experience:

We arrived early for the meet and greet, which was an unforgettable experience. Kassi was incredibly welcoming and took the time to speak to all three of us, taking individual and group pictures. For me, this moment was especially significant, as I had been introduced to her music while working with her social media team during my internship with Chaos Creators Entertainment. Meeting her in person was a fantastic experience.

Pre-Show Atmosphere:

After the meet and greet, we headed to the restaurant connected to the venue while waiting for the opening act. The atmosphere was buzzing with anticipation, and it was clear that the audience was filled with dedicated fans.

The Performance:

Kassi Ashton opened her set with her latest release, "Called Crazy," immediately captivating the audience. It was incredible to see how everyone in the crowd knew the lyrics and sang along with her. Despite it being her first headlining tour, Kassi performed with the confidence and charisma of a seasoned artist. Her stage presence was phenomenal, combining strong vocals, confident dance moves, expressive facial expressions, and impeccable comedic timing.

In between songs, Kassi shared stories about the inspiration behind her music, connecting with the audience on a personal level. Her range as a performer was on full display, and her rendition of "Genie in a Bottle" was a standout moment, showcasing her ability to make any song her own with a unique country-rock twist.

Setlist Highlights:

Some of the night's highlights included her performances of "Dates in Pickup Trucks," "I Don’t Go Back," and "Taxidermy." She also treated the audience to some unreleased songs, giving us a glimpse of what’s to come in her music career.

Audience Interaction:

One of the most impressive aspects of Kassi's performance was her interaction with the crowd. She had an incredible ability to make everyone feel involved, whether through sing-alongs or her engaging storytelling. The energy in the room was palpable, and it was clear that Kassi thrives on the connection she builds with her audience.

Final Thoughts:

Seeing Kassi Ashton live was a revelation. While I’ve always enjoyed her music on Spotify, her live performance brought a new depth to her songs. She commanded the stage with a combination of strong vocals, engaging dance moves, and a genuine connection with the audience. It was especially rewarding to see my sister smile and be in her element, appreciating the music and the venue.

Remaining Tour Dates:

Kassi Ashton still has several dates left on her tour, including performances at the Cavendish Beach Music Festival in Canada, the North Dakota Country Fest, the Watershed Fest in Washington, and the Coastal Country Jam in California. Her single "Called Crazy" has recently been added to Spotify's "Wild Country" playlist, reaching a broader audience and solidifying her place in the country music scene.

For anyone who hasn’t yet experienced a Kassi Ashton concert, I highly recommend catching one of her remaining shows. Her new single, "I Don't Wanna Dance," released on May 31st, 2024, is also a must-listen for fans and newcomers alike. Kassi Ashton is a rising star with a bright future, and her live performances are not to be missed.

Make sure to follow her on Instagram and TikTok to see her create iconic outfits, get behind-the-scenes looks at her concerts, and enjoy "Called Crazy Thursdays." It’s amazing to see her getting the recognition she deserves after putting out music since 2018. Don't miss the chance to see this incredible artist live!
